SUNDAY, AUGUST 14
A Love Story
Student Ministry Pastor
August 14, 2022
Welcome! We are so delighted you have joined us today, whether in person or online. Here at Cedarbrook, we’re finding joy in life’s journey through deeper relationships with one another, service to our community, and authentic faith in God. Wherever you may be in your personal spiritual journey, we trust that this morning’s service will create a place for you to connect with God who alone can meet your needs.
The hungry in Clarksburg need your help. The demand for food is on the increase and the supply of food at the supplemental food pantry managed by the Clarksburg Community Assistance Network (CCAN) is running low. Cedarbrook will be holding a food drive to help restock the shelves. If you want to help, you can do so in one of two ways.
Discovery 1 is a relaxed, informal introduction to Cedarbrook for those who want to learn more about the life and ministry of our church. During one seventy-minute session, you will have the opportunity to get acquainted with some of our pastoral staff and learn more about our history, mission, ministries, and beliefs. We will meet on Sunday, September 18 from 9:00 – 10:10 AM in The Refuge, our student ministry space located in the office wing. During this class, childcare is provided in Promiseland. We would love for you to join us!
BLESSINGS & BAGS
It’s time for our last Summer Fun event with Cedarbrook Women! On Friday, August 26 from 7-9pm, we’ll be putting together blessing bags for the women at the homeless shelter Sophia’s House. Each participant will be asked to bring items to donate for the bags, make a $10 donation, or you can purchase an item from the Amazon wish list provided. We will put the bags together, including a note of encouragement, and then pray over the blessing bags. To end our time together, we’ll head out back to enjoy a bonfire and roasting marshmallows for s’mores! Free childcare will be available for children 8 and under. Please sign-up today to join us for Blessings & Bags & a bonfire!
GOING BEYOND SIMULCAST
Cedarbrook Women and Greenridge Baptist Church Women’s Ministry are co-hosting the Going Beyond Simulcast with Priscilla Shirer on Saturday, September 24 from 8:30am-4pm at Cedarbrook Community Church. It will be a live broadcast and will be shown on the big screens at Cedarbrook! The cost is $30 per person and includes breakfast, lunch, and snacks.
