PERU 2020


Peru Information


This year's Peru trip we will continue to work with our partner pastors Moises and Santos Buendia.  Our team will divide into three smaller teams to focus on different areas of Moises & Santos ministries. One team will focus its efforts in Lima with the Peralas church as well as working with the Punta Hermosa church.  Another team will focus its efforts in the mountain region and another team will focus its efforts in the Amazon Jungle region of Peru. **(All participants are welcome to order their preference of what team they wish to serve on from 1st to 3rd with the understanding there is NO GUARANTEE that you will be placed on the team of your preference.)       



Saturday, July 25th, 2020 – Monday, August 3rd, 2020



Our work will focus primarily on working alongside the local churches in doing children’s ministry as a way to reach out into their communities.  We will also be serving the communities & schools by working with them in cleaning, painting, and light construction. 



The Peru team is open to all current Oasis students. We will also receive applications from college-aged students, young adults, and other interested adults at Cedarbrook.



The cost to participate on the Peru team is $1,975. Each participant must pay a non-refundable $150 deposit along with the application by the deadline of February 17th, 2019. 


Please be aware that you are financially responsible for the cost of the trip. The team will hold one group fundraising event and the proceeds will be split among team members.  We will also help team members plan their individual fundraising efforts including support letter writing.  But please understand that any remaining balances will be the responsibility of the applicant.


We believe strongly that if God is calling you to this mission, God will provide a way. That provision will come through your hard work and His generosity. There is an element of faith involved and we believe that is a good thing!



Each person that would like to participate must fill out an online application and submit it along with a non-refundable $150 deposit by February 17th, 2019. Applications cannot be submitted online without a deposit. 


**There is a limited number of spots available for this year’s Peru Mission Team.  Spots will be secured in the order applications are received and deposits are paid. You will choose your team preference order on the application. 


Team Preparation:

We will spend time together as a team during the winter, spring and early summer for team building, fundraising planning, cultural training, and ministry preparations.  Below is a list of the dates of these meetings. Please mark your calendar now.


Peru Meeting #1 = February 20th from 7-9PM in The Refuge*

Peru Meeting #2 = March 20th from 7-9PM in The Refuge

Peru Meeting mini retreat = May 11th 1:30PM – 9:00PM at Cedarbrook

Ministry Prep Meetings & fundraising event will be planned once the team is assembled and will take place between April and July.


Peru FINAL Meeting = July 21st from 12:45-2:15PM in The Refuge*

*Parents are required to attend meeting #1 & FINAL meeting


Attendance at team meetings and fundraising events are extremely important. This must be a priority for you in order to participate on this mission team. Please understand that your involvement will involve sacrifice on your part.
