For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat . . . I needed clothes and you clothed me . . .Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.
– Jesus, Book of Matthew 25:35-40
The Clarksburg Closet is a clothing bank that provides quality clothing without charge to meet the needs of the Clarksburg community and its neighbors. We are a ministry of Cedarbrook Community Church and are located several doors down from the church at 23810 Stringtown Road Clarksburg, MD 20871. We are completely volunteer-run and we appreciate the support of our surrounding communities, including Clarksburg, Gaithersburg, Germantown, Poolesville and Frederick.
The Clarksburg Closet will be closed July 1-4 and September 1-4.
NEED CLOTHES?
We can pack a bag of clothes for you to pick up. Please email your name and phone number to info@clarksburgcloset.org. Then, you will be emailed back a form to fill out with your contact information and information for each person needing clothes. The form is an interactive form that can be filled out on your phone or computer using Adobe Acrobat, which can be downloaded for free. When you are done filling out the form, please email it back and the request will be forwarded to our volunteers, who will contact you with any questions and to let you know when your bag is ready. Pick-up will most likely be scheduled on Tuesdays 10am - 12pm or the first or third Saturday of the month from 10am - 12pm. Pick-up will occur at our building, which is several doors down from the church and is located at 23810 Stringtown Road Clarksburg, MD 20871. Inclement Weather policy: The Clarksburg Closet is closed on days that MCPS announces a delay or closure due to inclement weather.
Due to an increased volume of requests that include an unprecedented amount of crisis orders, we find that the time our all-volunteer staff takes to fulfill an order varies greatly. Please allow anywhere from 2 to 4 weeks for your request to be processed. Thanks for your patience.
We ask that you make a personal request no more than once a season.
Requesting for Others
Many of our requests come from social workers and others who make and pick up requests on behalf of their clients. If this is you, please email us at info@clarksburgcloset.org to request a form to fill out with your contact information in the “Request Made by” section and your client's information in the recipient section(s). Once we receive a properly filled-out form, we will pass it on to our fulfillment team and a volunteer will contact you to either pick it up or arrange for pick up once your request is ready. It is our policy to only communicate with the individual who makes a request in order to minimize the chances of miscommunication. If you are making a crisis request, please let us know so that we can prioritize it along with other crisis requests. Our normal turnaround time for non-crisis requests is 1 to 4 weeks depending on how many volunteers we have and how many crisis requests we need to prioritize.
